The word Katsute represents nostalgia, history, moments in time... ‘Once’. Step into a space where time moves more slowly, and each mouthful of our exquisite teas and home-made cakes can be experienced without the distractions of our bustling city. An oasis of Zen calm.

We choose our teas with one thing only in mind: the finest, most subtle and deep flavours. Our products are sourced directly from smaller artisan producers in Japan and are not widely available in the UK market.

Our desserts, which we bake ourselves, are gaining quite a following in Angel. We combine Japanese flavours like Matcha and Yuzu with traditional European styles which are fashionable in Japan.

We have sought to bring you a selection of unusual and exquisite sakes from lesser-known breweries, carefully chosen to represent a wide range of styles but with one thing in common – refined excellence.

Should you fancy enjoying Japanese tea at home, we have a selection of beautiful handmade teapots, as well as chawan, tea cups and matcha whisks.

Virtual Tea Tasting Events

We're delighted to announce that we now offer virtual tea tasting events on Zoom, so you can experience an authentic Japanese tea brewing ceremony, and try a range of blends from home! You can find out more about our events here.

Our neighbourhood is famous for its outstanding array of intimate, characterful shops and cafes. The area has its own unique atmosphere and style, and Camden Passage has a long tradition of being a centre for antiques and curios.
